"Great to have Champions Trophy on home soil" : Buttler

England's swashbuckling wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler speaks ahead of the Champions Trophy 2017. He was part of England XI as England lost to India by just five runs in a rain-curtailed 20-over final at Edgbaston in 2013.

To the much delight of England, Champions Trophy will once again take place in England, with the England facing Bangladesh, New Zealand and Australia in the group stage when the ODI tournament starts in June.

“It’s a huge summer for English cricket, it’s great to have the Champions Trophy on home soil,” Buttler told.

“I played in it the last time it was here too when we just missed out in the final, so I want to go one better this year."

“We have enjoyed playing in our own conditions over the last couple of years. There’s no room for slip-ups but we are confident in ourselves and that is our focus.”

Buttler also believes that his IPL experience with the Mumbai Indians franchise as an opening batsman will improve him as a player and help England in their quest to win the ICC Champions Trophy on home soil this summer.

“It was a brilliant experience again. I batted at the top of the order which was something new and exciting, and it went pretty well,” said Buttler

England players are currently in Spain for a training camp before the first of 3-match ODI series against South Africa takes place on 24 May at Headingley.
