South Africa's run machine today (July 14) has created yet another record in Tests. Hashim Amla completed 8000 runs in Tests in the ongoing 2nd Test against England at Trent Bridge.Amla got to his milestone when he pulled Mark Wood's delivery for a boundary through backward square leg region.
Hashim Amla is the 4th South African player to reach this milestone in Tests after Jaques Kallies (13206 runs), Graeme Smith (9253) and AB de Villiers (8074).
Kallis reached this milestone faster than the rest of the 3 South African players in just 170 innings. AB de Villiers is second in 172 innings. Smith (173 innings) and Amla (178 innings) are the other two.
