The Indian National Selection Committee led by MSK Prasad has picked the 16-man squad for the 3-match Test series against Sri Lanka which will be played in Sri Lanka from July 26.

Rohit Sharma is recalled for this series. His last Test was against New Zealand in October last year, didn't feature in the Tests against England, Bangladesh and Australia during the home season due to thigh injury.


Lokesh Rahul too recovered from the injury and will feature in this series. He will be playing his first International match since Australia series.

Karun Nair and Jayant Yadav are the players who are dropped from the Test squad. Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav find a place in the squad along with Ravi Ashwin and Ravi Jadeja.

Squad: Virat Kohli (C), Murali Vijay, Lokesh Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (vc), Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Wridhimman Saha (wk), Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammad Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, Abhinav Mukund.

India is set to play 3 Tests, 5 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and one Twenty 20 International (T20I) against Sri Lanka during this series. The three Test matches will be played at Galle, Colombo and Kandy.
