Cricket Australia have today (Aug 18) announced their 14-men ODI squad and the 13-men T20I series against India. The tour of India will take place between September 17 and October 13 in which a total of 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is.
The uncapped Hilton Cartwright is in line for a ODI debut and the pacer Jason Behrendorff a chance of making his Australia debut in T20s.
In a surprising move, Dan Christian is included in the Australia's T20I squad. Seems like Australia have put trust on his vast IPL experience.
Australian pacer Mitch Starc is not considered for this tour as he is still recovering from his foot injury.
"Mitchell Starc has been excluded from the two squads as he continues his return from a right foot injury. We have recently reviewed the progress of Mitchell's right foot injury and the healing process has been slower than we would have liked," team physio David Beakley said.
The schedule and venues for this tour are yet to be confirmed by the BCCI, but the media reported earlier in August that Chennai, Bengaluru, Nagpur, Indore and Kolkata will host the five-match ODI series and Hyderabad, Ranchi and Guwahati the T20s.
James Faulkner, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Ashton Agar have been recalled. Josh Hazewood has been rested for the T20I series likely with Ashes round the corner.
