Bowling allrounder Axar Patel was named as a replacement for the suspended Ravindra Jadeja for the third Test in Pallekele against Sri Lanka.Axar who is yet to feature in a Test match has played in 30 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 7 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) for India.
Current No. 1 Test bowler and allrounder Jadeja was suspended for the Pallekele Test for hurling the ball at a Sri Lankan batsman off his own bowling 'in a dangerous manner'.
He admitted to the offence and accepted the punishment.
Axar's place in the playing XI is not sure with Kuldeep Yadav already in the squad. Miracles should happen to hand Axar hand his Test debut in Pallekele!
