Ravindra Jadeja was handed a one-match suspension after he was found guilty of throwing the ball at the batsman Karunaratne 'in a dangerous manner' off his own bowling.Jadeja picked up three demerit points for his action in Colombo, taking his total tally to six in a 24-month period, thereby resulting in this 1 -match suspension. Jadeja was also fined 50% of his match-fee.
During the third and final Test against New Zealand in Indore, Jadeja had been fined 50 per cent back then as well, receiving three demerit points too. He received two informal and one official warnings for infringing the protected area of the pitch before a fourth offence led to charges being levelled against him.
Jadeja received the Man of the Match award for his brilliant perfomance in Colombo. He scored unbeaten 70* with the bat and picked up 7 wickets.
