New Balance, the sportswear company, has decided to end its association with England all-rounder Ben Stokes following an incident in Bristol in September this year.
Stokes, who returned to Bristol last week for questioning, was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and could yet be charged by Avon & Somerset police.
"New Balance does not condone behaviour by our global athletes that does not match our brand culture and values, and therefore we have ended our relationship with Ben Stokes, effective October 11, 2017. We will not provide further comment," said New Balance in a statement.
Stokes was selected for the Ashes tour of Australia after the Bristol incident has happened. However, ECB has later announced that Stokes will not depart for Australia along with the team. He may travel on a later date based on the outcome of police investigation.
Everyone will get away from you even if you are a superstar. So, behaviour is foremost!! This is just our opinion, no offence meant to anyone.
