The Indian division of Hyundai Motor' won the "2016 Distributor of the year" award from the parent Hyundai Motor Company earlier in the month of May 2017.The award was presented by EUi Sun Chung, Vice-Chairman - Hyundai Motor Company to Y.K Koo, MD& CEO, HMIL and Rakesh Srivastava, Director - Sales & Marketing, HMIL.
According to the company statement, the award was presented to HMIL because of the outstanding performance of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) in 2016.
This Indian leg has been successful in winning ICOTY awards for Grand i10, Elite i20 and Creta. In total HMIL contributed 13.6% of the total sales of HMC in 2016 and 14.2% the 1st quarter of 2017.
The Hyundai Motor Company also stated that HMIL operations have been the most effective IEC net amongst all the other overseas plant of HMC.
