Team India have retained their number-one Test Team ranking on the ICC Rankings following the annual update in which series results from 2013-14 are no longer included and outcomes from the 2015-16 series are considered as 50%.India lead the no.2 ranked South Africa by six points in the list now. However, only 9 points separate no.3 ranked Australia and the no. 7 ranked Sri Lanka, with 9th Bangladesh trailing 8th West Indies by six points.
This annual update will be a worry for the 10th ranked Zimbabwe as they lost their only 5 points following this annual update. Their Test status could be under danger as well.
South Africa, though placed at no. 2, is the major winner from this annual update as they gained 8 points to increase the gap to 17 points between them and the 3rd ranked Australia.
