Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) is all set to have their own franchise based T20 league. The objective is to tap talent from the rural areas.ACA in association with the Redmoon Creative Private Limited are all set to launch the ambitious Andhra Premier League (APL) T20.
The catchline of the tournament is `Your time is now' and that could surely be so very true for young and talented cricketers of the Andhra region as the tournament will give them a solid platform to showcase their talent.
Six franchisee based teams namely Bezawada Baadshahs, Godavari Jaguars, Guntur Mirchis, Kadapa Kings, Nellore Lions and Vizag Whales will be part of this tournament.
The month-long tournament will be played in December 2017 and January, 2018. As the focus is to `hunt local heros', the tournament will be only for players from Andhra Pradesh.
"Our aim is to spark the feelings and taste of the game in everyone's life. Life is there to be enjoyed and we endeavour to provide new experiences that excite the senses and inspire all ages to feel the game," the tournament brochure says.
The ACA has signed an agreement with Redmoon Creative and thereby all the logistics will be handled by Redmoon Creative.
"All the operational and organising activities like franchisee management and brand sponsorship etc. have been assigned to Rajesh Mandhapati, MD, Redmoon Creative Private Limited to conduct the said Andhra Premier League (APL)," sources said.
